Dear Writer,
Are you looking for a writers group? Welcome to writersvoices.com! Explore the groups we’ve already started, or start your own group. This is an ideal online meeting place to keep in touch with your writing friends from around the country, or around the world! It can also be helpful to have an online writers group to facilitate more frequent exchanges with members of a local writers group that meets in person. It’s important to have a support system in any creative process. A timely word of encouragement can make all the difference. In our busy lives, a central on line place for your friends to look at your work at their convenience can be the key to making it happen. We’ve created this website to facilitate this need.
We’d love to hear from you! Take a look around our site and let us know what you think. You can also explore our library of live radio interviews with authors, publishers, agents, editors, and others connected with the world of writing. On our home page you will find information on self-publishing, articles on writing, book reviews, and more!
While you’re on our home page, check out Carol Bodensteiner’s article, “On the Road Again” about the benefits she feels from having a writers group or even one writing buddy. To get to know her better, you can find her interview in our podcast library. Carol is a native Iowan and a professional writer and memoirist who enjoys a long-term small writing group with her friend Mary Gottschalk, who has also been a guest on our show. The connections just keep growing as you explore and get to know our community. We’d love for you to be a part of it.
In our community area, you can create a profile, explore our members, check out our blogs, and leave comments. Sign up and say hi! I’ll write you back.

Looking for a free journal? You’ve come to the right place! Writersvoices.com is a new social networking site for writers. You can create a profile and start as many individual blogs as you would like. Keep one for your day to day life, one for your self-publishing project, and one for your muses about the writing process. How about one to record your impressions of our extensive library of interviews with authors, agents, publishers, editors, and others connected to the world of writing? The ideas are endless. Writersvoices.com utilizes Word Press, the internet’s most popular open-source blogging platform.
Blogging has created another dimension to traditional journaling. Some bloggers say that writing for an audience enhances the therapeutic value of journaling. Writing is a great way to untangle our thoughts and have the satisfaction of naming precisely how we feel. Adding the element of an audience creates the satisfaction of feeling heard and understood. In truth, the internet has made it easier to find pockets of like-minded thinkers who can help us to feel heard and understood, no matter how eccentric our life perspectives!
Some people are shy about blogging. They’re not used to the idea of sharing their personal thoughts and feelings with the world. The beauty of it is that when you do share openly and find yourself embraced and rewarded for doing so, it opens up a whole new sense of joy in being who you are. From that place it’s easy to step into being even more of who you are.
Journaling has always been a profound spiritual or healing practice. Now, with blogging, we’re transforming the way we communicate. We’re re-drawing the boundaries and making a deeply personal inquiry on a collective level about who we are and how we want to re-invent ourselves.
Writers’ Voices welcomes you to create a free profile and use our blogging platform as a free journal.
