“A lot of my stories kind of start off as these little jokes in my head and then I just decide whether I can expand them in to a short story… or something longer.” Sean Adams talks about writing speculative fiction and his novel – The Heap. ” I wanted to write something that had that kind of feeling; you know the chapters end on cliff hangers, the twists and turns, so that it would be weird and thought provoking and also have some of that…intense energy, like a thriller does.

One of the joys I find personally in writing, is building out worlds; immersing yourself in the small details of a place that does not exist.
